Michelle Marheineke has been with the District since 2018 and brings over 20 years of experience in the health and wellness industry. As the Fitness Center Director, Michelle is accountable for developing, implementing, and monitoring safe and efficient operations and programs.
Born and raised in Burlingame, Michelle knew from a young age that she wanted to keep her roots in her hometown and work in a career that was self-rewarding and focused on helping others. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Arizona State University, Marheineke started her professional career as an Exercise Physiologist in Cardiac Rehab at Mills-Peninsula Health Services, with a specialty in older adult fitness.
Michelle is passionate about going above and beyond for her Fitness Center community. Her empathetic and caring nature fosters a special connection with her staff and members alike. When she is not at work, she devotes her time to her husband and children every chance she gets. On the weekends you can find her attending her children’s sporting events and theatre performances.
Mary Enriquez has been an employee of the PHCD Health and Fitness Center since 2018 and brings over 5 years of experience in the fitness industry. She previously was employed as a Physical Therapy Aide for Mills-Peninsula Health Services. Mary is also a trained and certified Massage Therapist.
After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Exercise Sports Sciences from the University of the Pacific, she went on to complete her massage training at Skyline College. Mary’s interest in working with seniors was inspired by her love for her grandparents. In her professional career, she has always felt it’s important to give back to society.
In her free time, Mary can be found spending time at the beach or practicing calligraphy. She often exudes enthusiasm and always has a smile on her face.
Dona Edlund has been an employee of the PHCD Health and Fitness Center since 2018.
As a native San Franciscan and longtime resident of Burlingame, Dona has always been very passionate about the importance of exercise and nutrition. She was a Fitness Center member for several years herself, which lead her to her current position for the Center.
The majority of Dona’s 40-year work career was spent in Human Resources and Finance, which required a high level of customer service. In 2017, after 16 years as the Tuition Manager at Archbishop Riordan High School, she retired. Dona loves working part-time for the Center and enjoys spending her time away from work with her husband, two dogs, friends, and extended family.
Edeluisa (Edel) Enis has been an employee of the PHCD Health and Fitness Center since 2018.
Edel attended St. Paul University in the Philippines and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. After graduating, she was fortunate enough to travel all over the world as she worked for a cruise line for several years. She owes her love for travel to this exciting career adventure.
Since she began working at the Fitness Center, Edel has been inspired by how committed and physically active the members have been. When she is not working, she cares for her father and enjoys spending time with her daughter. On her days off, Edel enjoys shopping, cooking and baking.
Rita Kennen has been an employee of the PHCD Health and Fitness Center since 2019.
Rita grew up in New York City but has made the Bay Area her home more than 30 years ago. She is a graduate of San Francisco State University in Radio and Television and spent the majority of her career working in local broadcasting as a video producer and editor.
Working part-time at the Fitness Center is an ideal way to share her life-long passion for exercise and nutrition with the members. She also enjoys doing yoga and maintains a regular meditation practice.
In her free time, Rita enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, watching movies, and spending time with her daughter and friends.
